Atlas Casters introduces a new generation of precision Leveling Casters designed for automation applications in the semiconductor, medical, and pharmaceutical industries. These innovative products allow both a caster and a precision leveling component to occupy the corner of a machine for a lower cost of installation and better equipment stability. Currently, Atlas offers a 500 lbs model and a 1000 lbs model for heavy duty industrial applications.
Cold-drawn from a pre-tempered stainless steel like no other caster in the world, Atlas' Leveling Casters are extremely durable, lightweight, and cleanroom compatible. In addition, they have a number of advantages over competing products in the marketplace:
o flexible, modular design combines our standard swivel casters and leveling mounts
o leveler is concentric with the swivel axis of the caster
o patented kingpin rivet construction reduces shock loads by up to 65% compared to other stamped or cold-forged steel casters
o dual wheels offer a high load capacity, a low overall height, and excellent ergonomics
o Multiple wheel options are available including low cost phenolic and a high performance polyurethane with precision bearings
o precision leveling component can be adjusted easily from above or below using standard tools and wrenches (no bionic finger or expensive ratcheting mechanism required)
o standard length of travel is one inch (25 mm) beyond the wheel; extended length levelers are available if more travel is required
o levelers are compatible with our Zone 4 tested seismic restraints
To meet the divergent needs of the pharmaceutical and semiconductor equipment industries, Atlas offers a 100% stainless steel version (SS) and a semi-stainless version (CS) of each caster assembly. The SS version is suitable for washdown applications whereas the CS version is approximately 90% stainless and intended for non-washdown cleanroom applications. In fact, the CS version with our polyurethane wheels and precision bearings is used widely in the semiconductor equipment industry because they are more cost-effective and look identical to the 100% stainless version.
