Original Press Release:

echOsonix(TM) with Modbus from SOR, Inc.

SOR, Inc. is announcing the release of digital Modbus communications as a no-cost, standard feature on all echOsonix(TM) line powered level transmitters (models U71 & U73). By utilizing Modbus communications, SOR, Inc. can allow users to have up to 128 transmitters communicating on one shielded, twisted pair cable. All the units can be polled in less than 2 seconds.

The main advantages to using echOsonix(TM) with Modbus from SOR, Inc. include:

Modbus is a standard, no-cost feature. Most competitors offer it as a $50 to $100 add-on feature.

A single I/O circuit can support up to 128 transmitters. With Modbus, installation costs (cabling, conduit and I/O cards) are greatly reduced over analog systems.

The 2 second or less response time is significantly lower than the competition. Their multi-sensor system with only 10 sensors can have response times up to 3 minutes!
