New Antifouling Transducers from Pressure Systems Feature Wide Non-Stick Sensing Area

Hampton, VA, November 2005 -- Pressure Systems, Inc., manufacturer of KPSI(TM) Level and Pressure Transducers, has released a cost-effective, non-fouling level transducer featuring a wide Teflon®-coated sensing area. The new submersible Series 705 level transducer provides reliable depth measurement under adverse conditions, making it ideal for highly viscous applications including lift stations, slurry, and pump control.

The Series 705 incorporates a flush elostomeric diaphragm with a surface area of 0.90" to prevent clogging. The transducer is available in custom level ranges from 6 ft. H2O to 115 ft. H2O with analog outputs of 4 mA to 20 mA or 0 VDC to 5 VDC. The 705 is compensated over the temperature range of 0°C to 50°C (23°F to 122°F).

The transducer's rugged construction safeguards against damage from hostile environments. A welded 316 SS or Titanium housing protects the transducer's advanced electronics, which can optionally include lifetime lightning protection and temperature measurement output. The Series 705 is available with custom lengths of cable, which utilizes Kevlar® strength members to prevent errors due to elongation and incorporates a unique water block feature that self seals if the cable is accidentally cut.

The transducer is shipped with an installed maintenance-free SuperDry(TM) vent filter that prevents moisture from entering the vent tube for at least one year.

When connected to appropriate apparatus, the Series 705 can be installed in Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F and G; and Class III, Division 1 hazardous locations. KPSI transducers are IS approved by UL as well as FM, and carry IP 68 and NEMA 6P housing protection ratings. In addition, the series is CE compliant to EN 61000-6-4:2001 and EN 61000-6-2:2001.

Pricing for the new Series 705 is $595 each, and shipment is five working days ARO for up to six units.
