Level Sensor prevents water build-up in fuel tanks.

Press Release Summary:

VS323-11N liquid level sensor solves problem of water build up at bottom of low density hydrocarbon liquid tanks and filter housings. It utilizes float with s.g. signature that discriminates between water and fuel. When mounted at foot of tank and when water collects, it forms below fuel and floatation will occur in oil to water interface. Sensor signals water build-up, which can be remedied by manually venting or pump actuation.

Original Press Release:

Fuel Tank Sensor Beats Water Build Up

The VS323-11N liquid level sensor from switching, sensing and control solution specialists Gentech International solves the problem of water build up at the bottom of low density hydrocarbon liquid tanks and filter housings and prolongs the life of plant equipment, especially hydraulic machinery.

Caused by humidity or water contamination in the delivered fuel/oil supply, undetected water build up can lead to failure of equipment or false fuel level indication.

To counter this, the Gentech VS323-11N sensor features a float with an s.g. signature that will discriminate between the fluids - water and fuel. The buoyancy of the float will be set to float only in water. When mounted at the foot of the tank and when water collects it forms below the fuel and floatation will occur in the oil to water interface. The sensor then signals the water "build up" which can be remedied by manually venting or pump actuation.
