Electro-Mech Components Introduces Sunlight Readable Lens For Lighted Pushbutton Switch Displays
South El Monte, CA -March 31, 2004 - Electro-Mech Components, Inc. has announced availability of a new interchangeable lens for the company's line of lighted pushbutton switches, offering capability to be read in both "on" or "off" conditions. The new compact design meets specific customer and Mil-Spec requirements for sunlight readability, offering an immediate solution for space-conscious display installations in aircraft and avionics instrumentation for airborne or ground-based instrumentation, or in such applications as outdoor industrial control panels and commercial lighting controls.
Customer-specific legends can be read on the SW44002 Series when illuminated by incandescent bulbs in any of Electro-Mech Components' switches, or when not lighted, even when direct sunlight is shining on the lens surface. Compact in size and interchangeable with most industry standard lens configurations, the SW44002 lens measures only 0.520" square, 0.465" deep to rear lens edge, and can be installed directly onto switches either from front mounted or rear-mounted installations. Standard lenses are provided in black color, per Fed-Std-595. When illuminated, lighting brightness averages 250-foot lamberts (Ft-L) minimum. Chromaticity is in aviation yellow. The
industry standard lens shape provides smooth radius corners, important to ergonomics, safety and appearance. The standard SW44002 accepts one T 1-3/4 m.f.b. lamp.
