New From Dymax: Low Shrinkage, Low Movement Optically Clear Lens Bonding Adhesives
DYMAX Corporation offers a new line of lens assembly adhesives for precision bonding, mounting, laminating and fixturing applications. Specific application types include doublet bonding, lens laminating, mirror, prism and fiber optic assembly, as well as adhesives for use as temporary assembly aids.
Successful lens bonding applications include cameras, microscopes, tank periscopes, as well as eyeglass and sunglass lenses. Special UV blocking grades are available that exhibit excellent adhesion to PVA, CR-39 and CAP. These flexible lens bonders provide UV/visible protection to 410 nm.
DYMAX lens bonders have excellent adhesion to lens construction materials and to most metal, coated or painted frames and holders. Their low shrinkage and good flexibility characteristics minimize movement, eliminating birefringence common to more rigid types of formulations.
DYMAX offers low shrinkage, low outgassing opaque adhesives for precise optic alignment as well as optically clear grades for light path applications. Many of the adhesives are available in a range of viscosities, from thin wicking grades to thixotropic gels.
DYMAX adhesives are designed to cure fully when exposed to low to medium intensity UV and visible light in the 300-500 nm range.
