IMTRA Announces IS-Series LED Lights
Marine Manufacturer’s New Fixtures are Ultra-Thin, Fully Waterproof, and Explosion Proof
New Bedford, Mass. – IMTRA, the leading manufacturer and importer of quality marine products, announced today its IS-Series LED lights. Fully sealed, waterproof and explosion proof, while providing all the power savings and illumination benefits of LEDs, the new lights are designed to replace fluorescent fixtures typically found in engine spaces, cargo holds and utility rooms. The IS-Series has unlimited applications in all types of vessels from small cabin cruisers to mega yachts, commercial boats and everything in between.
The IMTRA IS-Series of low-profile fixtures provides extremely high-output illumination, while offering the safest and most durable lighting source available for marine conditions. Their indestructible acrylic housing is UV resistant and will not change color or turn yellow over time. The slim IS fixture is a purpose-built, solid-state LED device that eliminates the need to replace or store delicate filament-based bulbs. The device also includes an integrated driver that greatly simplifies installation. The entire unit is impact resistant and non-corrosive, and poses no risk of mercury exposure. Featuring an IP68 rating, the highest dust and waterproof rating possible, the IS-Series can be hosed down or even completely submerged. The fixtures are also ignition-protected and safe for use in close proximity to gasoline powered engines or other volatile materials. The compact, surface-mount design frees up overhead space and its flush mount, transparent housing disappears into the overhead when not illuminated. A stand-off bezel option is available for surface-mount cable installations.
“In the past, marine lighting units have walked a fine line between bright, efficient illumination and utility,” said Colby Chevalier, lighting sales manager, IMTRA. “With the low-profile IS-Series, we have bridged that gap to give our customers exactly what they need, a bright, low-power LED light that blends nicely overhead and can be installed anywhere.”
