Advance Introduces New signPRO(TM) Damp Location-Rated Drivers for Luxeon(TM) LED Light Sources
(July 28th, 2004 - Rosemont, Illinois) Advance Transformer announces the expansion of its popular line of signPRO(TM) drivers for LED lighting systems to include two new damp location-rated drivers for Luxeon(TM)-branded LEDs in each of two input voltages (120v and 230v). Specially designed for Luxeon products (offered by LumiLeds Lighting, the joint venture between Philips Lighting Company and Agilent Technologies), the new sign drivers are available in both 350mA models (for up to 7 or 8 Luxeons) as well as 700 mA models (for up to 12 Luxeons, 1 Luxeon line or ring, 5 Luxeon III models, or 3 Luxeon V models). Previously offered in versions for dry locations only, Advance's new damp location-rated drivers are ideal in sign settings where moisture could be a concern, such as applications involving self-contained channel letters or raceway installation.
Compact and lightweight, Luxeon LEDs are optimal in applications requiring bright, state-of-the-art, and long-lasting light sources. Because they are up to 10 times brighter than standard LEDs, the use of Luxeon-branded products can result in the need for fewer LEDs up-front, enhancing initial product costs, installation efforts, and maintenance requirements. In addition to the Luxeon's efficiency, the drivers' constant current operation feature, which eliminates the need for current-limiting resistors, is optimally compatible with Luxeon LED technology and allows the system to use up to 35% less energy relative to standard LED systems while being extremely user-friendly and simple to install.
As with all of Advance's signPRO LED sign drivers, the new products sport such standard features as leaded design, UL Class 2 rating including inherent short-circuit protection, high power factor, and operation down to -40°C. In addition, the drivers are rated for 50,000+ hours of life and carry Advance's full five-year warranty.
