Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com Releases Budget Friendly Class 1 Division 2 LED Light Fixture

Magnalight.com by Larson Electronics has released an LED light fixture designed to allow operators to upgrade from common fluorescent lamps in hazardous locations without the higher expense often associated with LED fixtures.  The HAL-SA-48-2L-LED Hazardous Area LED Light provides better output and durability than the fluorescent fixtures it replaces while offering a budget friendly price tag that makes upgrading easier and more cost effective.

The hazardous area LED light fixture HAL-SA-48-2L-LED provides higher light output and better durability than traditional hazardous area fluorescent fixtures while maintaining affordability.  Designed as an upgrade alternative to less reliable and more fragile fluorescent lighting fixtures, this hazardous location LED light costs less yet provides higher output and the same UL approved HAZLOC compliance.  This fixture is 4 feet long and fitted with 2 LED lamps and UL listed Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D. The housing is constructed from non-sparking aluminum making it both durable and light weight.  The high efficiency LED bulbs are sealed within the housing with a powder coated aluminum frame and shatter and heat resistant acrylic lens locked to the housing with corrosion resistant zinc coated latches. The high output LED lamps produce more illumination than standard T5 fluorescent bulbs and have an operation life over twice as long. These LED lamps draw only 1/3rd the amount of the current of traditional systems, giving these fixtures higher efficiency while still producing more light output. The LED lamps Magnalight has equipped these units with require no ballast to operate, which reduces fixture weight while also improving reliability and reducing maintenance costs. The HAL-SA-48-2L-LED is intended for use in hazardous location lighting  applications and carries UL approval for Class 1 Division 2 areas where gases and vapors may be encountered as well as UL 1598A Marine Type approval for wet offshore locations such as offshore oil platforms.  These fixtures operate with 120 to 277 VAC in standard configuration and Magnalight also offers 12/24 VDC configurations for use in low voltage applications as well.  These lights install the same as similar fluorescent using included surface mount L brackets that allow angle adjustment for precise control of the areas to be illuminated.  These hazardous location LED lights are ideal use in industrial, commercial, marine and offshore petrochemical operations and offer operators all the benefits of high efficiency LED lighting without the normally higher price tag.

“The HAL-SA-48-2L-LED Class 1 Division 2 LED light is an ideal rig light, since it is both durable and low cost,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com. “This LED rig light has long life, bright white light and simple mounting option that will fit any rig design.”
