Electronic Lighting Product Line Adds Tool for Hunters and Military

Lighting tool manufacturer, Maxxeon Inc. is celebrating its 10th anniversary by adding a novel lighting tool to its range of LED inspection lights.

The new WorkStar 2030 Hunter’s Floodlight represents a step into a new market for the company. Up until now, WorkStar products have been designed and manufactured for use by industrial and automotive technicians and tradesmen. The design features such as a moveable, directional light head and a choice between magnets or a retractable hook for mounting the light appeal to technicians who use this type of inspection light on a daily basis. The Hunter’s Floodlight is identical to the company’s original technician’s inspection light, except that the body has been coated with a Realtree ™ camouflage coating. All Maxxeon products use LEDs as the lighting source.

LED stands for Light-Emitting Diode, and an LED is an electronic device that emits light when an electrical current is passed through it. LEDs are up to ten times more efficient than incandescent lights, and are replacing incandescent bulbs in applications such as inspection lights and shop work lights since the LEDs last up to 50,000 hours and, unlike regular bulbs, are next to impossible to break. The high efficiency of LEDs means that LED lighting can be cordless using rechargeable batteries since the current draw of the LED is only a small fraction of the electrical power used by an incandescent bulb.

According to company spokesman John Schira, making the original WorkStar inspection light for other markets such as sportsmen or military, made a lot of sense. “The features of this lighting tool, such as the wide, floodlight-style beam, make it ideal for many purposes outside of the factory or work shop. We think that these prospective customers will really appreciate, the bright, white light, the clear, uniform beam pattern, and the fact that it can run for up to 8 hours on a charge.”

The Maxxeon Hunter’s Floodlight has a MSLP of $139.75 and is available from tool suppliers across the USA and Canada or from the company’s website at www.maxxeon.com
