Larson Electronics Releases Stainless Steel Hazardous Location LED Emergency Light Fixture
Magnalight.com has announced today the release of an industrial grade LED light designed to provide rugged durability and powerful light output for locations where explosion proof protection and emergency operating capability is required. The HALSS-EMG-48-2L-LED Hazardous Area LED Light Fixture features stainless steel construction, LED tube lamps, and approvals for Class 1 Division 2 locations as well as outdoor marine applications.
The HALSS-EMG-48-2L-LED Hazardous Area LED Light Fixture is a rugged explosion proof LED light fixture designed to stand up to wet and corrosive marine environments while providing the improved power and light quality of LED lighting technology and emergency operating capability. This heavy duty explosion proof light fixture features a stainless steel housing with stainless steel hardware for excellent durability and resistance to the effects of corrosive salt water and wet environments. An acrylic diffuser lens cover is sealed to the housing with a poured in gasket and stainless steel latches for secure sealing against water intrusion. The fixture is fitted with a pair of four foot long LED T series tube lamps which produce more light output than comparable T8 fluorescent tubes, but use less power and have twice the service life with a 50,000 hour rating. Since there is no ballast and the lamp tubes are LED, this fixture is highly resistant to the effects of vibrations and impacts, making it well suited to manufacturing and processing applications where heavy machinery is often operated. This LED light fixture contains no ballast, but instead has a built in battery backup system that will operate the fixture automatically in the event a power failure occurs. This backup system maintains the onboard battery at a ready state during normal operation, and once a power failure occurs, automatically kicks in and will power one lamp for 90 minutes or until power is restored. Once normal power returns, the fixture will automatically recharge the battery and return it to a ready state for the next potential event. This fixture carries approvals for Class 1 Division 2 hazardous locations, making it suitable for use in environments where flammable or explosive gases and vapors may be encountered. The fixture is also ETL 595 outdoor marine and ETL 1598A Marine Type rated and carries US Coast Guard approval as well. This fixture is multi-voltage capable and is compatible with voltages of, 120 Volt 60 HZ, 220 Volt 50 HZ, 240 Volt 60 HZ, 277 Volts 60 HZ. This fixture is also available in 12-24V DC versions for low voltage applications. The HALSS-EMG-48-2L-LED installs using included standard flat surface mounting flanges, and is an ideal lighting solution for offshore oil platforms, marinas, refueling areas, and any location where corrosion protection and Class 1 Division 2 explosion proof approval is required.
