BivarOpto(TM) Debuts Seven-Segment Displays Featuring High Uniformity & Consistency for Demanding Applications
Irvine, CA, June 29, 2004 - BivarOpto(TM), the Optoelectronics division of Bivar, Inc., introduces a complete new line of seven-segment displays that deliver the industry's highest levels of uniformity, and feature the tightest BIN control processes for greatest brightness and color consistency. These new seven-segment displays, employing the same LED chips (dice) as used in BivarOpto discrete and surface mounted (SMD) LEDs, are considered ideal for the most demanding industrial, commercial and medical applications.
The new BD Series is available in a range of single-digit seven segment LED displays, ranging in 6 different digit heights from 0.276" (7mm) to 1.0" (25.4mm), in 24 different styles and models. Common anode or cathode circuitry enables use in any numeric display configuration, including right and left hand decimal and 8 alpha characters. Standard wavelengths range from 465nm to 630nm, providing the full range of standard colors (blue, green, yellow and red). Standard face color is black with white diffused segments. Other segment or face colors are available. BivarOpto also offers segment displays in arrays of digits from 2-8 with overflow (+/-) and clock display options. Ready for immediate installation or use with automated insertion equipment or dispensing systems, all segments are shipped in ESD-dissipative tubes to assure safe handling during shipping and simplified inspection.

The seven segment series is manufactured in Bivar's new China-based, 80,000 square foot ISO9000:2000 Certified manufacturing facilities. All segments from 430nm to 525nm utilize American made Cree Research dice.
The BD Series of seven segment displays are priced from $0.267 each in production quantities. Standard ESD-packaged units are immediately available from stock.
