Schott-Fostec Introduces an Intelligent LED Controller

October 30, 2002 - Schott-Fostec introduces a microprocessor based LED Controller for machine vision applications, which fully utilizes the special features of the standard Schott-Fostec LED product line. This intelligent controller can automatically recognize the type of LED head, users can then set the parameters of the head through a terminal interface. Once set, the controller can run as a stand-alone unit, without a dedicated PC.

A state-of-the-art controller, the SC-2100 utilizes a light feedback loop to maintain intensity +/- 2% over the lifetime of the LED head. In addition, the unit monitors the LED temperature via a built in thermistor, which allows the controller to shut down the LEDs before permanent damage occurs.

The intelligent LED Controller provides features unmatched in the industry at an affordable price level. Standard features include 2 amp light source output, remote control interface, auto head recognition, on-board configuration memory and programmable duty cycle.
