Streamlight® Announces New Model, Improvements to 3C Propolymer® Flashlights

New 3C LED Version and Enhanced Original Model Meet Changing Needs of Industrial Professionals

EAGLEVILLE, PA (December 6, 2002) - Streamlight, Inc., a flashlight manufacturer for industrial applications, introduces a new 3C LED flashlight and an improved 3C xenon bulb model. Both lights are in the ProPolymer® family of lights.

According to Streamlight President Brad Penney, the new and improved lights offer industrial users power and longevity. "LEDs are gaining in popularity because of their long-lasting life and extreme durability," said Penney. "The LEDs of the 3C last up to 100,000 hours and are practically unbreakable." For those industrial users who favor flashlights with xenon bulbs, the 3C provides an enhanced focus. As a result of the lights' diverse characteristics, a wider range of industrial lighting needs are met.

With a continuous runtime of up to 5.5 hours at up to 12,000 candlepower, the improved xenon model provides long-lasting power with intensified focus. Longer lived, the new 3C LED light shines for a continuous runtime of up to 336 hours. Featuring ten ultra bright white LEDs, the new 3C LED flashlight offers broad coverage, casting a beam as far as 70 feet with a new set of batteries.

A shared feature of both lights is the enhanced convenience of the on/off switch. Previously, users were required to press the tailcap for momentary illumination or to rotate the facecap bezel for continuous "on" power. "Now users can easily switch between the two modes simply by pressing the tailcap," Penney explained. "This may be one of the more important improvements because industrial professionals can now use the flashlight single handed."

The new and improved 3C models continue to meet U.S. safety standards, listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. for use in Class I, Division 1; Class I, H, Division 2; and Class III locations. The lights also meet the safety standards of Canadian Underwriters Laboratories, and are listed for use in Class I, II, Division 2; and Class III environments.

Constmicted of virtually indestructible, non-conductive polymer, the flashlights feature a rubber facecap, unbreakable polycarbonate lens, and spring-loaded clip for hands-free use. At 8.55 inches in length and weighing 13.5 ounces, the lights are each powered by three "C" size alkaline batteries. Available in yellow, black or olive drab, the 3C LED model retails for $54.95 and the improved 3C xenon flashlight is $34.95.
