AVX's Lead Free SMPS Stacked Capacitors Provide High Capacitance Values with Low ESR Ratings for High Current/Ripple Applications

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its switch mode power supply (SMPS) capacitor product offering to include an RoHS series. Designated the RM Series, the lead free SMPS stacked capacitors provide high capacitance values with low ESR ratings in a small footprint for high current/ripple applications. The rugged SMPS stacked capacitors are uniquely suited for filtering capacitors on the input and output of power supplies or as snubber capacitors.

The addition of the RM Series stacked capacitors allow customers to choose between a tin/lead termination (SM Series) or a RoHS compliant product, depending on the application specifications.

"AVX has an established, twenty year history of supplying switch mode power supply stacked capacitors to the space, avionics and military industries, and maintains the
largest profile of QPL items and approvals for the SMPS market," said Scott Harris,
marketing manager at AVX. "The RM Series continues our stacked capacitor legacy of
providing low ESR/ESL levels, high power ratings and compact footprints with a cost
effective and functional package."

The RM Series stacked SMPS capacitors are ideal for telecom power, industrial
power, DC/DC converters, hybrid automotive applications or any customer needing a
RoHS stacked capacitor.

The RM Series is available from authorized distribution channels.
