Elo TouchSystems Expands Family of 19 Inch LCD Touchmonitors; New 1925L Desktop Joins 1947L Rear Mount Model

Fremont, California - Mar. 19, 2004 -- Elo TouchSystems, Inc., the global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, today announces a new Entuitive 1925L 19" Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) desktop touchmonitor. The new 1925L joins the recently announced 1947L 19" rear mount touchmonitor as part of the company's family of 12", 15", 17" and 18" LCD desktop and chassis touchmonitors that feature Elo's IntelliTouch surface-wave or AccuTouch five-wire resistive touch technologies. Elo's touchmonitors offer a variety of mounting options and chassis models feature a unique injection-molded minibezel with a watertight seal that makes them ideal for public-access and industrial applications. Elo's new 1925L desktop and 1947L 19" LCD rear mount touchmonitors are approved for use worldwide and will be available for demonstration in Hall 21, Stand B35 at CeBIT 2004, Hannover, Germany, from March 18 to 24, 2004.

"Designed for Touch" Features

"The design of the new Entuitive 1925L 19" LCD desktop touchmonitor was created on the drawing board to address the key needs of touch applications requiring a large, visually appealing display," says Paul Wiener, Elo's marketing manager. "The new 1925L touchmonitor includes "designed for touch" features such as a stable tilt base, OSD features on the side of the monitor with special lock-out function for public use, built-in touch LED status indicator, speakers and two external USB ports, as well as its standard USB and serial touch interface." According to Wiener, Elo now offers touchmonitors for indoor/outdoor kiosks, ticketing machines, medical equipment, and industrial automation applications, available with a choice of touch technologies.

Narrow Bezel, Distinctive Styling

"Elo's new Entuitive 1925L 19" LCD touchmonitor has a wider viewing angle -- 170° vertical by 170° horizontal -- and stands out because of the distinctive styling of its metal base and metal bezel with thin borders," says Mark Bolt, Elo's director of product management. "Its overall stability is attained by incorporating two mounting holes on the base bottom for tabletop security. With a brightness of 300 cd/m, a contrast ratio of 700:1, a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024, and the ability to display 16.7 million colors, the 1925L 19" LCD desktop touchmonitor presents an attractive display that grabs the user's attention."

Longer-Lasting Product Cycle

Both the Entuitive 1925L desktop and 1947L rear mount touchmonitors provide a longer-lasting product cycle because their enclosures are controlled by Elo's design specifications. "This means that future panel upgrades are possible without external changes," says Wiener.
