Open-Frame LCD Monitors For OEM's Now From Intruments & Equipment Co.

Sparta, NJ, Novmber 1, 2001... A multi-member family of low cost, open-frame LCD monitors has today been announced by Instruments & Equipment Co. (I & E), a recognized leader in hardware and components for the original equipment manufacturer,
point-of-sale, kiosk and information technology markets. The new 15-inch (15" viewable image size) units are engineered specifically to provide a turnkey product that can be easily be integrated into existing products, consoles, protective enclosures or kiosks. Provided with both resistive and capacitive touchscreens, as well as in non-touch versions, these open-frame OEM monitors feature a maximum XGA resolution (1024 x
768), and a distortion-free TFT active matrix screen. Moreover, their power management system is VESA DPMS compliant.

The LCD displays offer a typical brightness rating of 250 nits for easy viewing in high ambienit liglht, coupled with a high contrast ratio for increased color clarity. I & E's monitors boast a fast response time making them ideal platforms for "live" video input, as well as support a wide horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 80°. Further, they are compatible with IBM, Apple, Macintosh, Power Mac and third-party graphics standards.

Ideally suited for OEM integrators who require the high performance features of a CRT display, but have space, weight, and power constraints, the new monitors are supplied without a typical case or housing. Consequently, they can be readily mounted into kiosks and a wide range of computer-based equipment in process and industrial control, healthcare, medical instrumentation, and test and measurement applications. The feature-packed LCD controllers and cabling are built into a sturdy metal mounting frame to protect the active display area and facilitate a solid, rear-mounting solution. Exceptionally thin and compact, the 15.75" W x 12.25" H x 3.00" D monitors weigh only 11 pounds and are therefore easily moved for optimum use.
