Bradley's New Advocate(TM) Lavatory System Provides Personal "All-In-One" Handwashing Experience

- Green Restroom Solution Keeps Water, Soap and Hand Dryer in Close Reach -

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., (May 6, 2009) - Bradley Corp. is set to launch its new Advocate(TM) Lavatory System (www.bradleycorp.com/advocate), a personal handwashing station that provides an all-in-one experience, since access to water, soap and hand dryer are all available within a user's individual space. Bradley's exclusive and contemporary-looking design keeps all handwashing elements in immediate reach, so the user doesn't need to move, minimizing dripping water on the floor and wasted paper towels.

This unique handwashing station, available June 2009, is also Bradley's most environmentally friendly lavatory system. The Advocate comes equipped with a water-conserving 0.38 gpm faucet, well below the 0.5 gpm required for public lavatories. In addition to being available in highly durable Terreon® solid surface, the lavatory is also available in Terreon®RE recycled solid surface material, which is comprised of 25% pre-consumer recycled content and a bio-based resin, and is one of the greenest product materials on the market.

While most of the Advocate's components are recyclable - its stainless and trap covers also incorporate recycled content - the system also conserves energy. Not only does the Advocate utilize a low-energy consumption hand dryer, it incorporates Bradley's ndite® technology, which uses photovoltaic cells in the top of the lavatory system that can store and use energy collected from normal restroom lighting in order to power the lavatory's sensors and valves. Therefore, the Advocate operates without electrical wiring or expensive batteries that need to be changed and eventually end up in landfills.

In addition, its innovative and versatile design provides multi-height handwashing for user comfort. The Advocate is available in a variety of configurations, including single, two- and three-station units plus the accessory modules that consist of paper towel dispensers, waste receptacles and storage cabinets.

Advocate: It's all in the name

"Our product design team gravitated toward the name 'Advocate' based on a number of product attributes," says Jason Renner, Senior Product Manager, Bradley Corp. "This modern lavatory is an advocate for personal convenience, since the system provides an all-in-one user experience and accommodates several heights; it's also an advocate for safety due to less water dripping on the floor, which prevents accidents; and an advocate for the environment, with its use of recycled materials, and water- and energy- conserving technologies and features."

This system is also an advocate for making building and maintenance staff's jobs easier from installation through upkeep. Installation is made easy with a single hot/cold water supply, a simple plug-in dryer unit and light-weight components. As for maintenance, less water dripping means less clean-up. Its hinged cover, accessible from the top of the lavatory, also keeps internal parts in easy reach. High-capacity soap dispensers are easily refilled from top of unit and no special keys are required.

The Advocate Lavatory System makes an ideal choice for restrooms in a variety of applications: retail, restaurants, entertainment venues, colleges, hotels, and more.
Both of Bradley's exclusive solid surface choices available for the Advocate - Terreon solid surface and TerreonRE recycled solid surface - have earned GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and GREENGUARD Children & SchoolsSM Certification by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, an industry-independent, third-party testing organization for low-emitting products and materials. GREENGUARD Certification verifies that Terreon and TerreonRE are environmentally friendly for indoor applications and make a significant contribution to indoor air quality by meeting strict chemical and particle emission guidelines.
