The Clausing/Metosa CNC "Auto Teach" Lathes are easy to operate and require no programming skills. This makes them as easy to operate as conventional lathes, but with all the advantages and advanced technology of a CNC lathe. The key to its simplicity is the FAGOR CNC 8055 TC control, which allows the user to create particular cycles and integrate them into the CNC like any other operation. Eight models are available, with swings from 13" to 24". Lathes with swings 15" and greater have two variable speed spindle ranges, and an advanced system for automatically changing speed ranges. A powerful spindle drive motor provides exceptional low-end torque for a maximum operating range at full rated horsepower.
All Clausing/Metosa CNC "Auto Teach" Lathes offer features found only on higher priced machines. The heavy-duty carriage cross slides, bed ways and X and Z axes ballscrews are hardened and ground for long life and high-speed positioning accuracy. The special headstock design guarantees quiet operation, a high chip removal rate and excellent quality finish on the machined pieces. The lathes have an innovative, highly advanced system of automatic speed change ranges. The heavy-duty main spindle runs on pre-loaded, precision angular contact bearings to ensure extremely accurate turning. Front mounted handwheels are designed to allow easy operation of the machine when in the manual mode.
The FAGOR CNC 8055 TC control provides the operator with an interactive graphic interface that's easy and intuitive. There is no need for any programming knowledge - any operator can take care of any need that comes up simply by keying in the machining conditions and the geometric part data.
