Original Press Release:

Chemical-Resistant Ion Exchange Membranes Withstand Demanding Hydrogen Production Processes

EXTON, Pa., October 20, 2020 – To maintain process efficiency in hydrogen manufacturing, the anodic chamber must be separated from the cathodic chamber. FORBLUE™ S-Series ion exchange separation membranes are made from fluorinated resins, so they can withstand both acid from the anodic side and base from the cathodic side. These durable membranes are ideal for hydrogen production, engineering, and research and development.

FORBLUE S-Series grades are cation exchange membranes with a sulfonic acid group. They provide high cation-selective permeability for effective electrolysis or electrodialysis. They offer ion exchange capacities from 1.0 to 1.25 meq/g. The high ion exchange capacity enables very low resistance with high ion selectivity.

S-Series wet and dry membranes are available in a wide array of thicknesses. If processing requirements demand reinforcement, S-Series membranes are available with special PTFE fabric that has high mechanical strength.
