Odd-Shaped Components. Not an Issue with Creform Carts

Greer, SC—Creform Corporation, a manufacturer of unique products for material handling structures has designed and produced a cart that carries cylindrical-shaped molds for a health and safety equipment Fortune 500 manufacturer. In collaboration with Creform engineers, the cart provides the functionality that is needed during the manufacturing process and protects the molds from damage, while offering the ease of load/unload.

The cart, used for both tool storage and equipment setup, features seven shelves with eight storage positions per level. Each position features triangular-shaped dunnage to keep the cylindrical tooling centered, separated and protected each within its own dedicated compartment. There is access from two ends of the cart.

The plastic shelves on the cart are designed to be removed and replaced without tools to accommodate various types and sizes of tooling. Each of the cart’s shelves can be repositioned or whole cart customized with only simple tools.

The cart features six 5" diameter bolt-on casters with urethane wheels for easy, stable and safe rolling. Two fixed and four that swivel. The two fixed casters are in the center and allow for easy directional control. Four corner swivel casters. A floor lock on one end of the cart ensures secure positioning when loading.

The cart’s dimensions are 40" W x 58" L x 70" T and is designed to hold up to 700 lb. Creform sales engineers designed the cart to balance the ergonomic considerations of light weight, while maintaining the necessary strength and durability.

As with all Creform carts, higher capacity and custom cart sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28 mm, 32 mm and 42 mm plastic coated steel pipes and metal joints. They can be configured for ESD (anti-static) applications. The component nature of Creform carts provides added value and ensures that if there is any damage or worn components replacement parts are readily available.

A wide variety of pipe color options are available and upgrade hitches are available for AGV delivery. Accessories include hooks, label holders for shelf levels or even shelf positions, writing surface with clip boards to name a few. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution

The Creform System is used to create an array of material handling and efficiency enhancing devices and is a proven component in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs. The company partners with customers in developing and implementing these programs.
