Leica Geosystems Introduces New Break Resistant Reflectors (BRR) for Leica Laser Trackers

BRRs are the new alternative to traditional Corner Cube Reflectors

Miamisburg, OH - June 18, 2007 - Leica Geosystems, a Hexagon company, today announced their new line of high precision Break Resistant Reflectors (BRR) for use with Leica Laser Trackers. The reflectors work with all models of the Leica Laser Tracker in a full range of up to 40 meters. The BRRs have a sturdy, one-piece stainless steel design with a unique collar around its optic aperture for convenient handling and protection. This laser tracker accessory comes in two sizes - 0.5" (0.25 oz. weight) and 1.5" (6.88 oz. weight) - with centricity of ± 0.0004in (0.010mm).

Leica laser trackers include an Absolute Distance Meter (ADM), which makes it possible for the tracker to precisely locate individual target reflectors such as the BRR, without the need for continuous interferometer tracking. The reflectors can be attached to both large and small components. The new BRR provides a new alternative to the traditional Corner Cube reflector constructed with fragile glass components. The BRR line expands the current Leica reflector portfolio of RRRs (Red-Ring Reflectors), TBRs (Tooling Ball Reflectors), CERs (Cateye reflectors) and more.
