SICK Introduces the V18L Series of Laser Sensors

New Sensors offer a Long Sensing Range and Small Visible Light Spot in an 18 mm Housing

The V18L series of laser photoelectric sensors from SICK provide maximum sensing ranges, better detection of small parts (down to 0.5 mm) and a high switching frequency. These innovative sensors provide powerful, reliable operation even under difficult conditions. In addition, the V18L's bright light spot offers a more precise sensing point, which simplifies setup, adjustment and maintenance.

The new series of laser sensors offers a wide array of sensing ranges:
o VSE18L through-beam photoelectric sensor: 60 m (196.8 ft)
o VL18L reflex photoelectric sensor: 35 m (114.8 ft)
o VTE18L photoelectric proximity sensor: 400 mm (15.75 in) or 250 mm (9.8 in)

These new laser photoelectric sensors strengthen the company's existing family of 18 mm standard photoelectric sensors. The V18L also comes in the same size cylindrical housing as many inductive, capacitive and magnetic sensors, offering greater design flexibility and easy standardization. While designed for demanding applications, the V18L series is economical enough for use in everyday applications.
