Interchangeable Measurement Sensor Heads Make The ZX Smart Laser Sensor Flexible For A Variety Of Applications
SCHAUMBURG, IL (March 18, 2002)- The new Omron ZX smart laser measurement sensor's amplifier can interface with three visible red through beam and eight visible red displacement sensor heads. This innovative flexibility lets the user utilize the same sensor amplifier platform for a variety of different measurement sensing applications, which saves engineering time and money. The ZX smart laser sensor's small size and long 500mm displacement sensing distance and 2000mm through beam sensing distance also provide measurement solutions for many applications. Dimensionally, the 30mm x 31mm x 64mm amplifier and 17mm x 39mm x 33mm sensor head make it one of the world's smallest measurement sensors.
The ZX smart laser sensor also features direct PC connectivity, enabling a user to easily monitor operations, gather data and change operating values. Use of the smart laser sensor software and a PC screen greatly expands the amplifier display. Additional features include waveform monitoring, data logging and PC control of amplifier operational settings. Another feature of the ZX smart laser sensor is its unique resolution indicator that displays the sensor's operating resolution, allowing the user to make informed decisions on critical acceptable high and low measurement values. The ZX also offers an optional calculating unit used for two sided thickness measurement eliminating the need for a separate panel meter or controller, allowing for easier installation and cost savings. In addition, the ZX has three separate one touch teach functions--position, 2-point and automatic--which enable easy programming of acceptable measurement values and greater application flexibility.
The ZX smart laser sensor is ideal for electronic assembly, wafer fabrication and the machine tool industry. For distance measurement, the ZX sensor- head is rated an FDA Class 2 laser and width measurement, it is rated FDA Class 1.
