High Resolution Background Suppression Lasers Provide Accurate Target Detection
EXTON, PA...ifm efector inc. introduces a new family of miniature background suppression laser photoelectrics for position sensing applications. Measuring only 24 x 45 x 11 mm, the OJ Series laser sensors offer high resolution sensing for precise target detection. The photoelectrics incorporate diode array sensing technology that enables them to differentiate between the target and background at less than 0.5mm, regardless of background color.
This class 2 laser provides a highly collimated, parallel beam up to a distance of 200mm. Two body styles are available for application flexibility, front sensing or side sensing. For target detection, light spot sizes include 1x2mm or 0.8mm.
The sensor's microprocessor-based pushbutton adjustment simplifies installation and reduces setup time. The sensor can "learn" the characteristics of an application and determine the distances of both the target and the background. Calibration can be initiated by the sensor's pushbutton or from a remote location via a programming connection.
OJ sensors include a quick disconnect feature that allows the sensor to be removed from its mounting bracket and replaced without realigning the unit or moving the bracket itself. A variety of mounting brackets provide simple installation for a wide range of application requirements, including fine vernier adjustments for very precise alignment of the laser beam.
