TRUMPF to Introduce Compact New Tabletop Laser Marking Workstation at IMTS

FARMINGTON, Conn., August 21, 2006 - At IMTS 2006, TRUMPF will introduce the new VectorMark Workstation 150, its smallest and most compact laser workstation, to the North American market. The VectorMark Workstation 150 is capable of labeling quickly and easily at the highest quality. With just a small 28.2-by-13.1-inch footprint, this light and compact workstation is designed as a mobile and flexible tabletop workstation that allows easy access from the sides.

"The VectorMark Workstation 150 is an economical entry-level machine that can produce high-quality labels and marks," explains Peter Grollmann, TRUMPF Inc. laser marking product manager, who recommends the new machine primarily for small- to mid- scale production. "The system is ideal for flexible manufacturing in which each production cell requires laser marking. The compact design and high performance create an excellent cost ratio, particularly in such situations."

The work area is accessible from three sides and can label a 4.72 inch by 4.72 inch area. A monitored safety door guarantees class 1 laser protection when the laser is in use. The integrated optical focus adjustment of +/-0.28 inches and the manual support area height adjustment of up to 5.91 inches ensure equally high quality when labeling differently sized workpieces.

The system is sold in a package that includes the VectorMark compact 1 to ensure permanent marks on the widest range of work piece shapes and materials. The laser is easy to program and highly flexible. Use it to apply, for example, text, serial numbers, data matrix and bar codes, logos and drawings. Remote service via telediagnostics is also included.
