Laser Distance Sensors come in 100 mm models.

Press Release Summary:

Suitable for detecting small features, Q4X Laser Distance Sensors are available with bipolar discrete (NPN and PNP) and analog (0–10 V or 4–20 mA) output options. With high-resolution capabilities, discrete models can detect objects as thin as 0.5 mm, while analog models precisely inspect part dimensions and positioning with resolution down to 0.15 mm. Housings are made of FDA-grade stainless steel and rated to IP67, IP68, or IP69K, allowing use in wet and high-pressure washdown environments.

Banner Engineering Q4X Laser Distance Sensor Now Available with Higher Resolution Models

Q4X Laser Distance Sensor High-Resolution Models

Minneapolis, MN—Banner Engineering announces its Q4X laser distance sensor is now available in new 100-mm models optimized for higher performance over a shorter measuring range. The Q4X high-resolution models offer twice the measurement precision and a 25 percent smaller laser spot than the longer range 300-mm Q4X models, making them ideal for detecting small features.

The new Q4X sensors are available with bipolar discrete (NPN and PNP) and analog (0-10 V or 4-20 mA) output options. With high-resolution capabilities, discrete models can detect objects as thin as 0.5 mm, while analog models precisely inspect part dimensions and positioning with resolution down to 0.15 mm.

“Adding higher resolution models to the Q4X series allows our customers to solve their most difficult distance-based applications,” said Brad Ragozzino, Technical Marketing Engineer, Banner Engineering. “With higher performance over a shorter measuring range, the Q4X can detect small features, height changes and positioning with greater accuracy.”

Banner’s Q4X is ideal for difficult distance-based sensing applications as it easily detects objects regardless of target surface reflectivity, including black foam on black plastic, black rubber in front of metal, multicolor packaging and targets of all colors. Also available with a dual teach mode, discrete Q4X sensors can detect clear objects or changes in signal intensity due to changing color or reflectivity.

For a simplified user experience, the Q4X includes a bright readout on a highly visible, angled four-digit display that is easily viewed from multiple vantage points. The Q4X also offers intuitive user setup utilizing three tactile push-buttons conveniently located below the display.

The Q4X is constructed with robust housing rated to IP67, IP68 or IP69K, allowing use in wet and high-pressure washdown environments, durable FDA-grade stainless steel resists mechanical impact, over tightening, extreme vibration and aggressive cleaning procedures.
