Leica Geosystems Introduces DISTO(TM)A6 with Integrated Bluetooth(TM)Technology
(Norcross, Ga., 23 June 2006) Leica Geosystems today announced the introduction of the new DISTOTM A6 handheld laser distance measuring tool, offering built-in BluetoothTM technology for wireless transfer of measurement data from the laser distance finder to a pocket PC or laptop on the job
The DISTO A6 comes with free software that allows data to be exported directly from the handheld instrument into programs like Excel®, Word® or AutoCAD®. The value is automatically entered into the cursor position on the computer screen. The software runs in the background. The user can even control the cursor on the laptop or pocket PC using the navigation keys on the A6 instrument for added convenience.
"The DISTO A6 is the ideal tool for professionals who need to optimize workflow and productivity on the job by capturing measurement data in real time," said Matthew Miles, marketing manager, Americas, for Leica Geosystems' Measuring Tools Division.
Like the DISTO A5, introduced last year, the A6 takes measurements within 1/16 in. at ranges up to 650 ft., and up to 325 ft. without the use of a target plate. The integrated 2x viewfinder facilitates making longer-range measurements under bright sunlight conditions.
The A6 incorporates all the other popular features of the successful A5, including the multifunctional end piece with built-in sensor and unique soft grip, providing accurate, stable measurements from edges or corners.
Like all DISTO laser distance meters, the A6 comes with a two-year warranty. The rugged instrument is splash- and dust-proof.
