Baumer Electric Introduces EOM-Priced Laser Diffuse Sensor
Southington, Conn. - December 10, 2002.... Baumer Electric has introduced a new low-cost, long-life Diffuse Background Suppression laser sensor in a 14mm x 35mm x 31mm IP67 plastic housing. Offering true background suppression by triangulation, this Class 2 laser sensor detects within a range of 5 to 350mm regardless of color, texture, or reflectivity while simultaneously ignoring all background objects.
Featuring a Class 2 laser diode light source, the Series 14 laser diffuse sensor produces a light spot of less than 0.2mm at 100 mm from the sensor face. The sensor constantly monitors its own light output and self-adjusts for any environmental changes. With a mechanically adjustable sensing distance of 350 mm, the laser sensor boasts a short response time of less than 0.5 ms, output LED, short circuit and reverse polarity protection, a wide 10-30 VDC supply range, and a M8 QD connector. Capable of detecting matte, glossy, black, white or multicolored objects with little or no reduction in range or change in sensing characteristics, this sensor is perfect for a wide array of precision positioning tasks.
