Laser Beam Profiler allows users to adjust laser at will.

Press Release Summary:

Designed to measure beam profile and power of pulsed industrial Nd:YAG and Diode industrial lasers, BA100 displays laser beam intensity profile in real time. Instrument makes measurements at full or near full power levels (1,000 W max) and is useful for looking at focal spots. Beam profile can be shown in 3D form and rotated to different angles and elevations. Unit handles pulse energies to 30 Joules and has beam area of 25.6 x 19.2 mm with 5.7° field of view.

Original Press Release:

BA100 Industrial Laser Beam Profiler

Wilmington, MA June, 2003...Ophir Optronics, Inc. announces the release of the BA100 Industrial Laser Beam Profiler system. The BA100 laser beam profiler system is designed for users needing to measure beam profile and power only, of pulsed industrial Nd:YAG and Diode industrial lasers. The BA100 is also useful for looking at focal spots since the object plane is outside of the unit at the top of the input flange.

The BA100 displays the intensity profile of an industrial laser beam in real time, allowing adjustment of the laser for optimum beam quality on-line. For most Pulsed YAG lasers, the BA100 will make measurements at full or near full power levels (1000W maximum). This allows an operator to adjust the lasers for maximum performance under typical full power operating conditions.

The BA100 has an exclusive optical system that makes it easy to adjust the intensity to get the optimum beam profile picture. By just pushing and pulling the filter adjustment levers of the BA100 accomplishes this. The beam profile can also be shown in a three-dimensional form, which can be rotated to different angles and elevations.

Laser average powers up to 1000W, and pulse energies up to 30 Joules can be handled by the BA100. The beam area for the BA100 is 25.6 mm W x 19.2 mm H with a field of view of 5.7°. The portability of the BA100 allows it to be moved from laser to laser to monitor all lasers within a plant.

Average Laser Power

With a Laserstar display unit attached to the BA100, users can measure average power of their laser beam to ±3% NIST traceable accuracy. The RP power/energy measuring head has an exclusive damage resistant coating with a damage threshold of 6KW/cm².

Software Features

Users of the BA100 can set Pass/Fail criteria, Autoscale, Average, Peak intensity, User calibration, Centroid, User Set Clip Levels, Color 2D contour map and 3D wire grid display-picture size adjustable and Freeze screen. Real time display of beam profile characteristics, Null calibration, Video with playback, Printing of text and pictures X and Y profiles, Save profiles to file, Setup for different camera types, Statistical tables. Zooming of images, and ActiveX software are all included.
