Microgage Adjustment Plate - Expands Possibilities for Industrial Alignment



January, 2003: Newburyport, Massachusetts - Pinpoint Laser Systems is introducing a unique, new laser adjustment plate for precision laser alignment and control. The Adjustment Plate moves the laser in four axes, with precision micrometers, to simplify machinery and equipment alignment tasks. The laser beam can be positioned to within 0.001 inch and is ideal for checking machinery travel, straightness of fixtures and assemblies, precision bore alignment, and verifying parallelism and squareness. Although the Adjustment Plate can be coupled with
any laser, is has been developed primarily for Pinpoint's popular Laser Microgage Alignment System and for use on the production floor, as well as in the field for installations.

Four precision micrometers adjust the position of the laser. Two are dedicated to straight, linear adjustments in the vertical and horizontal directions, while the other two are for angular
adjustments of pitch and yaw. The Adjustment Plate is easily attached to a tripod or bolted to a machine, allowing for tight laser positioning control over distances as great as 50 feet. Coupled with the Laser Microgage, this new mount can be used for checking straightness, machinery parallelism, squareness, flatness, bore alignment, and other demanding alignment tasks. Initial applications include roll alignment in woven fabric mills, long shaft alignment in shipbuilding, and precision optical alignment.

The Adjustment Plate is fabricated from solid aluminum and protected by a hard, anodized coating. All micrometers are graduated in 0.001 inch increments (metric versions available) for easy control, and the plate is assembled with stainless hardware for years of reliable use.
