Larson Electronics' Fluorescent Fixtures to be Featured in "War for the Planet of the Apes"

Larson Electronics, an industrial lighting leader, has announced that their four foot, two lamp fluorescent light fixtures will be featured in the new “War for the Planet of the Apes” film set to be released in July 2017.

Under the working title “Hidden Fortress”, filming for the third installment of the “Planet of the Apes” commenced in the Lower Mainland of Vancouver in October 2015. With numerous appearances in large productions such as Green Lantern, I am Legend, and Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Larson Electronics’ industrial lighting equipment has proven to be a popular choice among set designers. Production crews have chosen to utilize the company’s explosion proof fluorescent light fixtures on set, as well as their four foot hazardous location light fixtures.

The HAL-48-2L is a hazardous area fluorescent light fixture that is Class 1 Division 2 rated, carries a T4A temperature rating, and ideal for locations where flammable chemical or petrochemical vapors may occasionally be present. This fixture is constructed of copper free aluminum alloy and the lamps are protected by a shatter and heat resistant clear acrylic lens. The lens is affixed to the aluminum housing by ten draw latches, providing a tight waterproof seal. The fixture is surface mounted with two adjustable brackets cinched to a mounting peg on each end of the light. Once the brackets are mounted to a surface, the fixture can be removed by loosening the cap screws that hold the bracket to the mounting peg. Pendant mounts are also available for users who need to suspend the fixture from the ceiling.

The EPL-48-2L is an explosion proof fluorescent light fixture that is Class 1 Division 1 approved, carries a T6 temperature rating, and ideal for locations where flammable chemical or petrochemicals exist. The lamps in this unit are protected by heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes and the fixture is constructed of copper free aluminum alloy. The lamp reflectors are corrosion resistant heavy gauge aluminum and coated with a high gloss reflective finish. This fixture is also surface mounted with two adjustable brackets and can be pendant mounted as well. Both fixtures are multi-voltage capable and can operate on 120 to 277 volts AC.
