Océ Introduces New Entry-Level, High-Quality Large Format Color Plotters

Océ CS2224 and Océ CS2236 Color Inkjet Plotters Maximize Design Assets for Very Low Volume Users

May 15, 2008. Trumbull, CT - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, introduces two new color plotters to complement the existing Océ TCS large format color portfolio - the new Océ CS2224 and Océ CS2236. The Océ CS2224 and Océ CS2236 are ideally suited for very low volume users seeking an affordable plotter to produce high quality, large format color CAD and GIS prints. The Océ CS22xx series replaces the Océ CS2124 and Océ CS2136 color plotters.

The 24-inch width Océ CS2224 and the 36-inch width Océ CS2236 are designed for users in very low volume environments that demand high quality 2400 x 1200 dpi printing of their technical color applications - line drawings, renderings, GIS aerials - and business/consumer graphics.

Vice President of Marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America, Sal Sheikh, commented: "The addition of these two new color plotters enhances the Océ range of color print solutions for technical documents. Whether users need very low volume, low volume, mid-volume or production color, Océ has a high quality, cost effective print solution to meet their needs."

Océ CS2224 and Océ CS2236 Highlights

Excellent Quality for a Variety of Applications
With 2400 x 1200 dpi print resolution for technical CAD/GIS color, the new Océ CS22xx plotters deliver brilliant, consistent quality for a wide range of applications. Line accuracy, sharp detail and subtle transitions are achieved with a very small drop size (4 picoliter) and large color gamut via dye ink (CMY) and high density pigment ink for black (4 color, 6 ink tanks). Océ pre-defined settings provide the user with one-touch printing and right-the-first-time results.

Bundled Software Improves Overall Productivity
ONYX® CAD-Pro v7 software is now included with every Océ CS22xx plotter. This RIP (Raster Image Processor) software provides a single hot folder for each print quality mode with automatic file recognition for true "drag and drop" capability of HPGL, HPGL (2), and HPRTL files. An upgrade to ONYX GraphicsPro software adds the ability to output Adobe® PostScript® and raster files directly to the plotter.

Very low volume solution for any output
The new Océ CS2224 and Océ CS2236 are very low volume, entry-level color inkjet plotters that pack uncompromising print quality and reliability into competitively priced offerings. Customers benefit from the ability to print a wide array of technical CAD/GIS color and business/consumer graphic applications on one device. These compact, economic plotters combine the intuitive nature and consistent, easy-to-use, high quality output that is standard with all Océ products. Users can therefore spend their time focusing on more important business tasks and trust their color print applications will be produced correctly the first time, every time.
