(Hartford, WI) HED Inc. introduces the Configurator, a new customer laptop software tool that supports the company's line of CANLink J1939 Controlled Area Network (CAN) components and systems. The Configurator permits customers to build the control logic for a complete CANLink system without needing to write any special software code.
The CANLink system simplifies control system design and installation for mobile equipment and machinery of all kinds. Replacing conventional wire harnesses with a 2-wire communication link, CANLink systems eliminate relay logic and fuses as well as enhance safety interlocks through microprocessor technology.
Program a complete system with the Configurator by connecting the RS232 serial port of a laptop or PC to one single module in the CANLink system. This connection allows the automatic transmittal of the customer created programs to all of the other modules through the system's CAN lines. Accomplish the entire process in four steps:
1. From the HED software program, select the modules needed for the vehicle or machine.
2. Select which inputs and outputs from each module are needed and give them a descriptive name.
3. Select the logic diagram by choosing a function from the logic library.
4. Map your descriptive inputs and outputs to the logic function.
