Pittsburgh, PA, October 16, 2007

LANXESS Corporation will exhibit its expert technologies for the coatings and related industries in booths 305 and 307 at this year's Western Coatings Symposium in Las Vegas from October 21-24, 2007. With the increasing focus on low- and zero-VOC paint and coatings products, LANXESS is highlighting its products that help manufacturers in the industry meet consumer demand for more environmentally friendly coatings.

Samuel Gomez from LANXESS Functional Chemicals is also presenting a technical paper titled, "Self Dispersible Dry Pigment Preparations for Water Based Systems." The paper discusses the technical features and benefits of LANXESS' LEVANYL® Gran and LEVANOX® Gran pigment preparations.

"Responding to consumer demand for 'green' coatings remains a priority for several LANXESS business units, and we're taking a holistic approach to providing successful solutions for our customers," said Randy Dearth, president and CEO of LANXESS Corporation. "We're proactively educating our customers about upcoming changes in regulations, so that we're not only selling the advantages of our products, but also helping them truly understand the technologies behind them."

For example, the LANXESS Material Protection Products business, which offers an extensive portfolio of biocides and preservatives for in-can and dry-film applications, has increased the number of VOC-free and low-VOC biocide formulations that effectively inhibit the growth of microorganisms in paints, coatings, and related materials. These products are sold under the brand names BIOCHEK®, TEKTAMER®, METASOL® and PREVENTOL®.

The Functional Chemicals business of LANXESS will showcase its microgranulated organic and inorganic pigment preparations that are self-dispersing and solvent-free. With virtually undetectable VOC, these LEVANYL® Gran and LEVANOX® Gran pigment preparations can be used in the coloration of paints, coatings, cleaning agents, and even paper. Both products are also available as liquid dispersion under the names LEVANYL® LF and LEVANOX® LF.

As one of the world's leading manufacturers of synthetic iron oxide pigments, LANXESS' Inorganic Pigments business will highlight the numerous advantages of its BAYFERROX® iron oxides and Chrome oxide green pigment, including ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environmental certification.
