Laird Technologies Introduces Wideband Mobile Antenna for Public Safety, Mission Critical Applications

Two-Way Antenna Offers Interoperability

ST. LOUIS MO. USA (September 12, 2006) - Antenex (a unit of Laird Technologies), a designer and manufacturer of premier wireless communication antennas, introduced today its Antenex B1322W Wideband Mobile Antenna for use in public safety and other communication applications. With the expansive frequency range of 132 to 174 MHz, the small "B-coil" antenna gives users the ability to transmit and receive with multiple government, public safety and commercial organizations.

"The Antenex B1322W Wideband Mobile Antenna complements our expanding line of advanced mobile coil antenna products," said Bill Bowman, marketing director, Antenex. "With this one antenna, federal, state, county and municipalities have the interoperating capability to exchange voice and data transmissions across multiple frequency ranges in the event of an emergency. This new product also aligns with the Project 25 initiative, a new standard for digital two-way wireless communications, and is an excellent choice for public safety agencies upgrading their communication hardware."

The use of superior quality components and processes give Laird Technologies advantages over its competitors. ABS material is injected directly around solid brass inserts for a virtually indestructible housing that will not leak or disassemble. Inside the wideband mobile antenna, all silver soldered joints create an electrically and mechanically secure connection. Additionally, an O-ring is built directly into the base to provide a weather tight seal, while a gold-plated pushpin contact guarantees best power transfer over time. The Antenex B1322W Wideband Mobile Antenna operates on a ground plane or no ground plane environment for ease of installation. It is currently available in a black or white housing with an optional shock spring.
