Paragon Labeling Systems Introduces a Robust Print-and-Apply Labeling System That Easily Integrates with Automated Packaging Lines

LAS VEGAS, NV - October 13, 2003 - Paragon Labeling Systems, Inc., a division of Lowry Computer Products and a leading manufacturer of automated labeling systems for supply chain labeling, announced that it is launching its PLS-400pac labeling system at today's opening of Pack Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The new Paragon PLS- 400pac offers all the benefits of their first generation print-and-apply labeling system, plus it has robust features that make it ideal for packaging applications requiring more logic control and systems integration within an open architecture environment.

The PLS-400pac is a flexible, cost-effective approach to labeling products, cartons, cases and pallets. Automated print-and-apply labeling systems help error-proof packaging lines by generating and printing accurate label data, and eliminating common sources of error caused by hand application and mislabeling.

"The new P&A system has a remote, machine-mountable PLC display that enables you to easily make changes to system programs and application logic sequence," said Craig Blonigen, VP Paragon Sales and Marketing. "Once the application is programmed, the display can be detached to secure your settings."

PLS-400pac includes a Label Format Save option that stores all the parameters of a given label, reducing set-up time and ensuring repeatability for future label runs. Other options include a Light Pole that alerts operators when label and ribbon media levels are low or when a system error has occurred, and a Reprint Last Label switch that enables an operator print 'one off' of the last label as a replacement for one that's missing or not correctly positioned.

The new PLS-400pac can be seen in the Paragon Labeling Systems Booth #C-1415 at Pack Expo. Pack Expo runs October 13-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, and is sponsored by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI).
