Starting Jan. 1, 2004, IATA will require shippers to add the Air Eligible marking to all packages of dangerous goods (excluding excepted quantities) that meet applicable air transport requirements. The marking depicts an airplane inside a circle and may include the words "Air Eligible." All shippers that transport hazardous materials under the IATA regulations must mark their packages.
