HellermannTyton Introduces Its New Automatic Label Applicator
Applicator Dramatically Increases Productivity in Labeling Installations
June 16, 2003 -- Milwaukee, WI - HellermannTyton, a global manufacturer of network cabling and identification solutions, introduces the Automatic Label Applicator, which rapidly applies high quality, pre-printed labels to wire and cable. Dramatically increasing productivity while reducing labor costs and repetitive motion injuries, the Automatic Label Applicator increases label installation rates up to 200% over manual label installations. The Applicator utilizes HellermannTyton's high quality, self-laminating vinyl labels. Vinyl labels are generally specified and preferred by most manufacturing facilities. By eliminating the oil and dirt contamination which can be present with manual label applications, the Applicator significantly improves the quality of the label wrap. HellermannTyton's Applicator can be used with wire ranges from .112" to .50" in diameter; just seven label sizes cover the range of recommended wire sizes. In addition, changing label sizes takes less than one minute which further enhances productivity - no tooling, gearbox or hardware changes are required. Using the Applicator is easy - simply place the wire or cable onto the gripper arms and activate the foot pedal. The label is wrapped cleanly and securely and returned to the operator. Powered on standard AC current without the need for cumbersome and noisy hydraulic or high pressure air lines, the Applicator can easily be moved to different workstations to accommodate multiple jobs.
An optional printing system is available from HellermannTyton which prints the self-laminating labels used with the Applicator. Consisting of a thermal transfer printer and accessories, the system allows labels to be pre-printed and kitted with specific cabling jobs.
