Lab Monitor checks environmental conditions.

Press Release Summary:

Laboratory Environment Monitor (LEM) monitors barometric pressure, ambient temperature, and relative humidity, and reports to PC via serial interface. Accuracy is 0.08 inHg for barometric pressure, 0.5°C for temperature, and 10% for RH. It comes with LEMCal(TM) data logging software program to display real time measurements. Software can log results in 1, 5, or 15 min intervals to text file. Up to 8 LEMs can be simultaneously monitored by a single PC.

Laboratory Environment Monitor

Ruska Instrument Corporation announces the introduction of the new Laboratory Environment Monitor (LEM). The LEM monitors barometric pressure, ambient temperature and relative humidity and reports this information to a PC via a serial interface. LEMCal(TM), a Windows based data logging software program, is provided with the LEM and displays real time measurements for each parameter in addition to air density. The software also provides the ability to log the results in 1, 5 or 15 minute intervals to a space delimited text file for ease of reporting and analysis using standard programs such as Microsoft® Excel® or Word®. Further, the LEM is equipped with an RS-232 interface and an RS-485 interface which allows up to 8 LEM's to be simultaneously monitored by a single PC using the supplied LEMCal(TM) software.

Providing a one year accuracy of 0.08 inHg for barometric pressure, 0.5° C for temperature and 10% for relative humidity, the LEM can be used as a digital replacement to mechanical strip chart or barrel recorders. The LEM is ideal for any calibration lab, mass labs in particular, since it also monitors barometric pressure. By monitoring barometric pressure in addition to temperature and humidity, the LEM can determine air density which provides the ability to correct for the air buoyancy effect on masses. The LEM is also well suited for clean rooms, storage facilities, R&D labs and any other area that requires environment monitoring.

Additionally, the LEM is compatible with Ruska's Model 2456 Piston Gauge Monitor and WinPrompt® software, as well as the Model 2465 Gas Piston Gauge Autofloat Controller, which automates the operation of the piston gauge while providing real time correction of the environmental influences.

The Laboratory Environment Monitor is provided with a NIST traceable calibration report, LEMCal software, AC power supply and a manual. An optional NVLAP accredited calibration is also available.
