NASHUA, N.H. - Resonetics, LLC, manufacturer of 193 nm excimer laser ablation equipment designed specifically for LA-ICP-MS, will introduce two new products at the upcoming 22nd Goldschmidt Geochemistry Conference in Montreal.
Resonetics is expanding its highly successful RESOlution geological product line with the new RESOchron double-dating instrument. Partnering with Australian Scientific Instruments, Pty., Ltd. (ASI), the company is developing a unique hybrid instrument for U-Th-Pb-He dating and trace element analysis. RESOchron is an integrated, in-situ micro-analytical instrument that is capable of rapid, computer-controlled, automated U-Th-Pb-He analysis of multiple grains allowing for faster, less expensive and routine application of double-dating in industrial and academic research. Areas of application include exploration for oil, gas and diamonds, as well as tectonics research. The RESOchron comprises a helium extraction and measurement module based on the Alphachron design by ASI, a 193 nm excimer laser ablation module based on the RESOlution, and dual UHV and gas flow-through sample cells by Laurin Technic.
The second product is the new S155 large format sample cell from Laurin Technic. Developed by Michael Shelley, a pioneer in LA-ICP-MS instrumentation, this larger cell expands the utility of smaller cells and allows use of sample holders of up to 155 x 105 mm. A two-volume design ensures very short washout times, outstanding sensitivity, a highly uniform signal and minimal fractionation.
The Goldschmidt Conference will be held at the Palais des Congres de Montreal in Montreal, Canada from June 24 - 29, 2012. Resonetics will be exhibiting in Booth #113, where technical staff will be available for detailed discussion.
