Universal Digital Panel Meter Accepts 65 Signal Types with No Need for a Signal Conditioner Board
Laurel Electronics, Inc. announces the availability of model L40, a low-cost, multi-signal digital panel meter for 65 user-selectable analog input signal types and ranges, with no need for a plug-in signal conditioner board.
Signal input types include DC voltage and current, true AC RMS voltage and current, process signals (4-20 mA, 0-10V), thermocouples (10 types, °C or °F), RTDs (6 types, °C or °F), thermistors (NTC or PTC), resistance (0-5k or 0-50k ohms), and potentiometer inputs. A 15V, 30 mA excitation output is standard for process signals.
The meter's universal power supply accepts voltages from 18V to 265V, AC or DC, so that power can be 24 Vdc or AC voltage in any country. The meter conforms to the popular 1/8 DIN size standard and features four 14.2 mm (0.56") high red LED digits for display to 9999. The display is user scalable for signals other than temperature.
Programmable features include five levels of display brightness, min and max capture, dual scaling selectable by an external control input, a deadband around 0 for AC measurements, a moving average digital filter, a "count by" function, hysteresis for alarm operation, a user-configurable fast access menu, and selectable password protection.
Two plug-in output boards are optional. These are 8A relay boards for alarm or control, an isolated 4-20 mA analog output board, and an isolated RS485 Modbus RTU board.
The L40 base meter without option boards is priced at $120. Options are priced at $30 (relay board) or $50 (analog output and RS485 boards). The L40 is now in stock at Laurel and is available from Laurel’s distributors.
