L-3 Communications' AMI Instruments Organization to Build 100th Simulator Cockpit Assembly for New U.S. Navy EA-18 Growler Aircrew Trainer


NEW YORK --July 10, 2006--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Link Simulation and Training (Link) division's AMI Instruments (AMI) organization will produce its 100th complete simulator cockpit assembly. AMI will deliver a new EA-18G simulator cockpit to Link as part of a major subcontract from the Boeing Company through U.S. Naval Air Systems Command PMA-265 for the EA-18G aircraft program.
The simulator cockpit will be integrated with major Link and Boeing systems, producing the first Tactical Operational Flight Trainer for this F/A-18E/F Super Hornet derivative aircraft.

The EA-18G training device will consist of separate front and rear cockpit assemblies and associated interface cabinet. The assemblies will be completed and tested individually and as a complete system at AMI's facility.
