IOGEAR Cuts Clutter from Dual PC Use with New KVM Switch

Molded Cables, Compact Design and Remote Port Selector Spare Users From Desktop Disorder

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 13 -- Two computers can now share one Digital Video Interface (DVI) monitor, PS/2 mouse and keyboard, speaker set and microphone thanks to IOGEAR's new MiniView(TM) Micro DVI PS/2 KVM Switch (GCS92). The product incorporates a new molded, asymmetrical cabling design, as well as one-tap and independent switching features. Now, in order to alternate between PCs, users only need to press a small push-button that can be placed on their desk, minimizing clutter by not requiring the entire unit to sit directly on the desktop.

The device also provides independent KVM and audio switching via hot keys, enabling users to toggle separately between audio functionality and CPUs. With this feature, a user can play music on one computer, while working on the other. It also includes molded, asymmetrical cables to prevent cord disorder behind the computer closest to the KVM, and allow it to be stored out of sight.

"Since introducing our first KVM switch to the market in 1999, we have continued to launch new switches, each with its own innovative features," said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR. "The MiniView Micro DVI PS/2 KVM Switch is unique to our other KVM offerings with its compact design and remote port switching, enabling it to be connected and in use behind the work area. In addition, its asymmetrical cables further simplify set-up by minimizing congestion behind the CPU."

The self-powered switch provides plug-and-play support for 32 bit color at video resolutions up to 1600 X 1200 @ 60Hz, and its PS/2 mouse and keyboard emulation ensures uninterrupted operation when switching between PCs.

The product is compatible with Microsoft Windows and Sun operating platforms, and is priced at $159.95 (MSRP). It is available immediately from all major catalog and online resellers, as well as selected retail outlets, and comes with IOGEAR's standard three-year warranty.
