ATEN Technology Launches New CAT5 KVM Switch with Capability to Control More than 8,000 Computers

New KM0832 CAT5 Matrix KVM Switch Combines Superior Enterprise Networking Functionality With Detachable Front Panel to Ease Cable Management

IRVINE, Calif., May 2 / -- ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity solutions to manage servers and other network devices, today announced a new enterprise-class KVM solution designed specifically for medium and large network environments. The new KM0832 CAT5 Matrix, part of the ALTUSEN line of enterprise-class KVM solutions from ATEN, is a 32-port, 8-console KVM switch that allows eight users to directly access and control up to 32 computers simultaneously and independently. The unit provides network administrators with the capability to manage more than 8,000 computers through a combination of daisy chaining and cascading. The KM0832 also features a detachable front panel, which allows users to mount the body of the KVM near the back of the rack, easing cable management. The new KM0832 CAT5 Matrix KVM will be priced competitively and available at the end of Q2.

This space-saving 1U-high unit features a Category 5 UTP user port that connects seamlessly with ATEN's recently released CN5000 IP-based control unit to provide remote access to local servers. In addition, CAT5 technology improves cable management since CAT5 cables are thinner than coaxial. For local and remote server access (up to 500 feet away), the KM0832 helps network administrators optimize port allocation with a shared ninth console port on the front panel of the switch.

"Our new CAT5 Matrix KVM switch offers advanced enterprise networking capabilities with the scalability to accommodate data center expansion, and is further proof of ATEN's commitment to KVM innovation," said Sampson Yang, CEO of ATEN Technology, Inc. "In addition, the unit's CAT5 port extends additional functionality to network administrators who require remote access of servers."
