KVM Matrix Switches/Extenders have hybrid fiber/CATx architecture.

Press Release Summary:

Comprising matrix switches and extenders, TLX Series provides flexible and efficient, uncompressed signal architecture supporting fiber-optic and CATx connectivity. Extension and switching is possible for full, uncompressed 4K video with full color depth (4096 x 2160 resolution, 4-4-4 color depth) at 60 Hz frame rate using 2 fibers or CATx cables. Single laser, single-data-stream, 10 Gbps architecture supports delivery of uncompressed video, audio, and peripheral data.

Original Press Release:

Thinklogical Introduces Innovative New TLX Family of KVM Matrix Switches and Extenders; Hybrid Fiber/CATx Architecture Delivers Industry-Leading Performance and Efficiency

Industry-First Uncompressed 60Hz 4K Video and KVM Signal Management Using Only Two Fibers or CATx Cables Demonstrated at ISE 2015, Stand 11-D46

MILFORD, Conn. -- Thinklogical, a global manufacturer of secure, high performance KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) extension and switching systems for video-rich applications, today introduced the TLX Series matrix switches and extenders, giving customers industry-leading high performance and a flexible and efficient uncompressed signal architecture supporting both fiber-optic and CATx connectivity.

With TLX, Thinklogical becomes the first KVM systems provider to deliver extension and switching for full, uncompressed 4K video with full color depth (4096 x 2160 resolution, 4-4-4 color depth) at 60Hz frame rate using only two fibers or CATx cables. This reduces the cost and infrastructure required to manage content created in the growing 4K video industry standard without compromising quality, resolution or performance.

The new TLX 4K signal management solutions are being demonstrated at ISE 2015 - Integrated Systems Europe, Feb. 10-12 in Amsterdam, where Thinklogical is exhibiting in stand 11-D46. Product demonstrations include the new TLX DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 extenders and the new TLX640 switch, the market's highest capacity and most flexible KVM and video matrix switch.

TLX matrix switches and extenders are based on an innovative new, single laser, single-data-stream 10Gbps architecture that supports delivery of uncompressed video, audio and peripheral data over both fiber-optic and CATx infrastructure, minimizing the number of components and cables required when compared to alternative solutions. TLX offers the lowest signal latency in the industry (microseconds, vs. milliseconds for compressed solutions), and no visual artifacts, jitter or lost frames for the highest video signal quality.

"With the launch of TLX, Thinklogical is addressing customer requests for an uncompressed, hybrid KVM system offering greater performance, resolution and efficiency than the compressed products available currently," said Joe Pajer, president and CEO of Thinklogical. "Our new TLX series matrix switches and extenders deliver high performance and flexible configuration options, all at a competitive price point. TLX also delivers the only true uncompressed 4K at 60Hz signal management capability on the market today, making it the ideal solution for surveillance, broadcast, post-production, simulation, and other applications where the extension and switching of 4K video at the highest possible resolution is a mission-critical requirement."

The TLX Series from Thinklogical delivers a number of industry firsts and customer benefits, including:

--  The first KVM solution in the market able to extend and switch uncompressed UHD (ultra-high-definition) video using only one fiber or CATx cable, and 4K video at 60Hz using only two fibers or two CATx cables -- half as many as competitive KVM products -- providing a simpler and more efficient installation that saves time and reduces cost.

--  The first hybrid signal extension and switching products from Thinklogical, offering customers high-bandwidth performance over either or both fiber-optic or CATx cabling.

--  A scalable, future-proof 10Gbps architecture that meets today's application needs and resolutions including video resolutions up to 4K and 3D, with the ability to easily expand and support future and unknown system growth, video resolutions and signal formats.

--  An innovative connector on its TLX extenders that can receive both HDMI and DisplayPort cables on the same extender, reducing the number of extenders needed, and eliminating the requirement for an external adapter or dongle to convert from DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI. This allows a customer to upgrade from HDMI to DisplayPort when and as they need to in the future, with no change in equipment. When combined with a Thinklogical TLX matrix switch, it becomes easy to intermingle and connect HDMI/DVI and DisplayPort sources and displays.

--  Uncompressed signal transport at 10Gbps bandwidth, resulting in the highest video and signal quality, with no latency, jitter, lost pixels or frames, a requirement for applications needing the highest possible video resolution and computer peripheral performance.

--  Interoperability with Thinklogical's market-leading 6.25Gbps fiber-optic products.
