Tripp Lite Introduces New 1U Rackmount KVM Consoles with 17" LCD Monitor

Chicago, IL (February 14, 2006)-Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, is proud to introduce the newest in its line of popular NetDirector(TM) 1U Rackmount KVM Consoles, now available with 17" LCD monitors. Building on the success of its 15" Consoles, the 17" Consoles offer a larger viewing area and greater ease in managing multiple open windows and scrolling through long file lists.

The NetDirector(TM) Console with 8- and 16-Port KVM Switch capabilities combines a 17" LCD video-quality monitor (1280 x 1024), an 88-key keyboard, touchpad and optional KVM Switch in only 1U of rack space. The Console is specifically designed for enterprise-level server administrators who need to maintain centralized control of multiple computers or servers from a single location. And the new 17" monitor gives administrators more real estate to control up to 516 computers or servers.

"Our new 17" Consoles pack more viewing area into just 1U of rack space," states David Posner, Tripp Lite's Director of Product Marketing for Connectivity Products. "Combined with their extensive feature-set, these Consoles give network administrators the advanced KVM functionality they require with the convenience and user-friendly features of a full PC workstation."

The NetDirector1U Rackmount Console is mounted in an easy-glide drawer that stores neatly in the rack and pulls out when needed. Installation is quick and easy and requires no special software. Hot-pluggable operation allows the addition or removal of PCs or servers without powering down. Port Status LEDs are located on the front of the Console and are selectable via on-console buttons, on-screen display or keyboard "hotkey" functions. The Console simultaneously supports multiple operating systems and controls up to 512 PCs or servers by daisy-chaining additional KVMs. Two-level password security accommodates up to four users plus an administrator while a firmware upgrade port allows upgrades from the administrator's computer to the KVM.
