KROHNE to Highlight SpectroBAY Process NIR Spectrometer System and OPTIMASS 6400 at Gulf Coast Conference

Advanced analytical technology, to be displayed in Booth #3409, delivers efficient process control

Peabody, MA – KROHNE, Inc. will showcase industry leading process control analysis equipment at the Gulf Coast Conference, which will be held October 20-21, 2015 in Houston, Texas. On display in Booth #349 will be SpectroBAY, a Process NIR Spectrometer system for efficient process control in the chemical industry. Also showcased will be the OPTIMASS 6400 twin bent tube Coriolis Mass Flowmeter, ideal for standard liquid and gas applications in the chemical, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries.

The SpectroBAY analyzer system to be shown at the booth uses near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technology for optimized automation processes, improving chemical plant reliability and profitability through automated control. The SpectroBAY system is ideally suited for a range of applications, including fluids, gases, and suspensions in conjunction with optical sensors. Chemical plants equipped with SpectroBAY operate more profitably and achieve a return on investment in a shorter period of time. In the last 10 years NIR spectroscopy has established itself as a powerful tool in the process analysis technology (PAT) sector – and SpectroBAY is ideally suited for integration into a process control system.

In addition to the spectrometer, the SpectroBAY system includes the powerful Analyzer Result Transfer Software (ARTS), which transforms results into file formats that can be forwarded to the control system as well as the chemometric modelling of the calibration model and lifelong support of this model. In addition, also includes the design of specialized probes, which are adapted to requirements of the specific customer application.

Visitors to the booth can also see the OPTIMASS 6400 twin bent tube Coriolis Mass Flowmeter, approved for custody transfers of both liquids and gases. The OPTIMASS 6400 features advanced entrained gas management (EGM), with no loss of measurement with gas entrainment up to 100 percent of volume. Unlike other mass flowmeters, where relative movement between gas and fluid dampens the amplitude of the measuring tube and interferes with the electronics’ capability to determine the actual resonant frequency, the OPTIMASS 6400 with EGM can follow and correct for the varying amplitudes. The OPTIMASS 6400 operates in high temperatures up to 752°F (400°C), as well as cryogenic applications down to -328°F (-200°C), and can handle pressures up to 200 bar (2900 psi).
