Kontron to Deploy 6th Gen Intel® Core(TM) Processor Family
Embedded specialist to launch new boards and modules featuring powerful Intel® technologyÂ
Augsburg, Germany – Kontron, a global leader in embedded computer technology (ECT), today announced that the latest 6th generation Intel® Core™ Processor will power new Kontron boards and modules to be released in early 2016. With these boards, Kontron's customers can take full advantage of Intel's latest and most powerful processor version, Skylake-H and U processors. Kontron will also extend its product portfolio with new long life DDR4 SODIMM memory with up to 32 GB, which is also available as ECC memory.
Products featuring Intel® 6th generation Intel® Core™ Processor technology will include several models of Kontron COM Express® Computer-on-Modules (COM) in the standard form factor, COMe Basic (based on Intel Skylake-H processor) as well as in COMe Compact (based on Intel® Skylake-U processor). Samples of products based on Skylake-U will be available for customer evaluation in November and samples for products based on Skylake-H in first quarter 2016. Kontron motherboard additions will include Mini-ITX and Flex-ATX, as well as other form factors to follow.
