Kodak Delivers Adlib Software's Solution to Reduce the Cost and Complexity of Document Workflows

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 18 - An all-in-one server based document management application paired with a dedicated document scanner creates a total, integrated solution that helps businesses reduce costs and save time. Combining document conversion, optical character recognition (OCR) and PDF publishing capabilities, ADLIB Express Software and KODAK Scanners enable people and businesses to work efficiently together using common document formats.

Adlib Software, an Ontario, Canada based enterprise and member of Kodak's Authorized Independent Software Vendor Program, uses its ADLIB Express Software to transform images extracted from KODAK Scanners into easily accessible and universally compatible electronic documents such as PDF, PDF/A, PDF/X, RTF, WORD, JPEG, TIFF and XPS. Kodak's customers can then easily retrieve these records to accelerate and streamline their document processes.

"This is a beneficial alliance for both Kodak's Value Added Resellers and business customers," said Peter Duff, CEO of Adlib Software. "The addition of ADLIB Express Software to the KODAK Scanner solution provides end users with a complete document transformation solution, which helps reduce overall cost and creates efficient document workflows."

Customers are currently challenged with a piece-meal approach to document transformation that includes using separate applications for conversion, recognition and publishing. Inconsistent applications can create multiple communication problems for IT staff. With Adlib's software, Kodak's customers benefit from dealing with one integrated application for all of these document workflow requirements.

ADLIB Express Software works with KODAK Scanners to serve customers in a variety of industries, including life sciences, government, financial, manufacturing and legal. As companies balance multiple projects, adhering to government regulations, working to meet deadlines for the publishing of submission documents and communicating across international borders, this all-in-one server application can help them to more easily repurpose, store and retrieve documents, and work collaboratively. The software's integration with existing technologies such as fax and email reduces the costs associated with deployment, installation and desktop software licensing and maintenance.

"Most businesses need assistance with organizing complex, unstructured documents into standard formats for usable, everyday information. This capability enables our customers to work efficiently, which is especially critical in this demanding economy," said Kevin Diday, ISV Business Development Manager, Business Solutions and Services, Eastman Kodak Company. "Kodak and Adlib Software's collaborative efforts help to better serve our customers through a combination of software, hardware, service and support; creating affordable and effective solutions that offer a rapid return on investment."
